In my experience with the criminal element of Ashvale, the lines between man and animal are often blurred in a metaphorical way; in the case of Jojo Manning it is a more literal quandary in many ways.
Jojo’s childhood shows no abnormalities that would raise warning signs, which could be considered a sign in and of itself – if anything he shows a pathological avoidance of conflict and repression of emotion in situations that would cause an outburst in others. Orphaned as a child, Regina grew up on the streets as a thief where her natural talent for strategy and planning led to her leading a large ring of homeless kids just like herself who stole to survive. Although they got by, life was far from safe and the number of homeless people going missing was on the rise; the crimes were mostly ignored by the authorities since no one except other vagrants noticed their absence.
