I'm back! I'm also leaving! That should be enough explanation, farewell ♫
Alright, you guys are obviously going to get a better explanation than that as well as a quick update. So yeeeah, I haven't been on DA in quite a few months thanks to the fantastic timing of the hand-in dates of college assignments as well as an 'educational' trip all the way to South Africa! Also that was fantastic, unless you count that guy that rested my torch on an electric fence. Bloody thing blinks all of the time now. The torch, not the guy. Obviously, he does blink because he's human but for a torch this isn't really a suitable behaviour.
Now, to why I'm leaving this account. Lately I've been getting inspired again, jotting down ideas, quizzing people on what they'd think would pay rent in a haunted mansion etc etc; but not for Minecraft. It comes to the point that coming up with ideas for an existing game is extremely limiting, because you're having to try and keep to the same theme of the game and have to build it on an already existing world. That, and in all honesty I have not played any Minecraft... well quite a while, let's leave it at that
; so it feels odd that I'm suggesting new mechanics for a game I don't really play anymore. I want to do new stuff, move on, watch cat vid... I mean; and get some stuff done now that I'm finishing my course and finding a job. Well, contemplating a job.
So before ending this journal and answering messages so then my leaving doesn't count as rude, I'd just like to thank many people including those that are probably not reading this. First off, thanks to all 232 of my watchers of all breeds; the commentators, the nonsense spewers (highly entertaining, if I may add), the silent ones, the collectors that enjoy favouriting (a brand new term!), the llama badge farmers that shared their finest specimens with me; as well as the people that aided towards 43,761 page-views of my account, those that had the patience for my many abandoned projects and the ones that favourited (also a new term) my work 5,627 times!
Now, the personal touch! First, I probably have to point to
for the Minecraft modelling as he's the one that introduced me to Techne (go check him out too, he's got some good artwork). Secondly there's
, who was a fantastic person to have a conversation full of hilarity with and helps warn people of noted thieves and... those from the odd corners of the internet. Similar to
, check out his stuff. Next there's also
and
, who both seem oddly alike with how kind and welcoming they can be towards people. Dear deities, are they the same person?!? Pushing aside conspiracies, the former's working on an excellent
comic series as well as once doing surprise fanart of some old
fakemon of mine (yes, I drew. Odd, isn't it. Especially when you consider the bulk of my gallery) and the latter being a fakemon artist with a multitude of puns and references for titles and several interesting project ideas that are worth keeping an eye out for. Again, check them both out if you want to
To the watchers that are here for Minecraft, which is most of you (I think...), there's also some people I need to mention that you might enjoy! First off, there's the infamous
who creates many a fine picture through modelling, and has even created several requests from me that included yetis, topaz, baboons and melon headed snowmen (seriously though, when are you doing those again? That was genius) as well as helping me with a few of the textures for the earliest of my blocks! Then there's others that come up with ideas such as the limitless
who used both Techne and the art known as
drawing to show off his mobs, as well as
who for some reason sadly left us but left behind some fantastic models for us to remember and
who has successfully created several mythological beings and obviously read a bit of Terry Pratchett (therefore must be right about everything). Moving on, I present to you two people that have been giving the most encouragement in the past year and carry on saying that I inspired them,
and
ettanKarmen7:. With the former ending up as a bit of modelling competition (his own words, twisted slightly) who ended up getting increasingly better than I ever did, and the other one starting a unique project and then moving onto improving his pencil-work instead (good call, look at what happened to me x3). If you hadn't guessed, check out their work too!
Sorry if I've missed anyone out though, it's likely with a 4 month break and a memory being tested sourly by work, so just type in the comments "And me!". We'll pretend I meant to turn this into a motivational movie about teamwork!
P.S. By the way, I'm not leaving DA guys! I've simply moved over to my brand new(ish) back up account! It can be found here, and might have good stuff. I dunno, it's stuff done by me so who knows? Find out for yourself over here at this link! ----> Fantastical Link and Such
